Eddie Wu

Eddie Wu is CEO of Alibaba Group and one of its 18 co-founders, joining in 1999 as the company's first programmer. He led the technical architecture of Taobao and Alipay, founded Alibaba Mama and served as CTO of Taobao, and later founded Vision Plus Capital. Since becoming group CEO in September 2023 he has made AI the company's core strategy, open-sourcing the Qwen model family, integrating Tmall and Taobao under one e-commerce group, and committing CNY 380 billion over three years to cloud and AI infrastructure. He was named to the TIME100 AI list in 2026.
